Launching Gantry

A launching gantry (also called bridge building crane, and bridge-building machine) is a special-purpose mobile gantry crane used in bridge construction, specifically segmental bridges that use precast box girder bridge segments or precast girders in highway and high-speed rail bridge construction projects.

The launching gantry is used to lift and support bridge segments or girders as they are placed while being supported by the bridge piers instead of the ground.

Form Traveller

The form traveler (Called Bridge Builder) is common equipment for the construction of large-span pre-stress bridges which use cast-in build method. It can be used to build the segment one section by one section without supports and the help of large cranes.

The form traveler is a load-bearing frame that can slide or roll along the top of the bridge deck. It is anchored and suspended on the constructed beam section. The form traveler can be used for the installation of the next beam section’s formwork, reinforcement, pre-stressed pipes, concrete pouring, pre-stress tensioning, grouting and other operations. After completing the cycle of one segment, the form traveler can move forward and fixed to carry out the suspension grouting of the next segment, and so on until the cantilever grouting is completed.

Movable Scaffolding System (MSS)

A movable scaffolding system (MSS) is a special-purpose self-launching form used in bridge construction, specifically prestressed concrete bridges with segments or spans that are cast in place. The movable scaffolding system is used to support a form while the concrete is cured; once the segment is complete, the scaffold and forms are moved to the end of the new segment and another segment is poured.

Self-Propelled Modular Transporter (SPMT)

A self-propelled modular transporter or sometimes self-propelled modular trailer (SPMT) is a platform heavy hauler with a large array of wheels which is an upgraded version of a hydraulic modular trailer. SPMTs are used for transporting massive objects, such as large bridge sections,[1] oil refining equipment, cranes, motors, spacecraft, entire buildings, and other objects that are too big or heavy for trucks. Ballast tractors can however provide traction and braking for the SPMTs on inclines and descents.

SPMTs are used in many industry sectors worldwide such as the construction and oil industries, in the shipyard and offshore industry, for road transportation, on plant construction sites and even for moving oil platforms.
